Little sketch from a photo taken this summer when I climbed to the top of the bell tower at Notre Dame with my son, niece and nephew. Here is an absolutely glorious documentary on Bonnard that Ive been watching this week, with luxurious footage of his paintings and his home in Le Cannet, and interviews with the president and chief curator of Musee d’Orsay and Orangerie, the Musee Bonnard, the director of the Phillips collection, the Hermitage… It is in French, which I listen to like music more than anything else. Even if you don’t understand a word of it the pictures and visits to sites are splendid.
