Garden: finding our hearts

More from our recent class at Shakespeare’s Head garden in Providence, RI.

It restores me to myself to sit and paint and it is astonishingly fulfilling to see the artists tucked away in the Garden like this! some completely lost from sight even in a little city garden while they explore it, in silence, with their paintboxes.

Has me thinking that this practice is an antidote to Wordsworth’s 200+ year old lament “The world is too much with us late and soon; getting and spending, we lay waste our powers Little we see in nature that is ours; We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon! (click here for the rest).
