I had never really noticed the Old State House in Providence, and certainly not known what it was, until scoping out Roger Williams Memorial park last month for our watercolor class. We had our hands full with the new State House that day but I have put this spot on the calendar for a fall series of watercolor classes. Here I tried to show the long, uphill, tree-lined pathway that it peeks over. But I got carried away describing the building-in the sketch it is huge in proportion to the trees. I so enjoy the sunlight filtered by summer leaves.
